Prayer And Kinds of It
Introduction:-
Deuteronamy 4:7:-
What othere nation is so great to have their god's near them the way the Lord our God is near us WHENEVER WE PRAY TO HIM?
Dear beloved in Christ Jesus its my pleasure to come to you through this.
In the above coated verse Moses is addressing the people of Israel about how the Lord is nigh unto them than to any other Nation.
Being saved in christ Jesus the Bible says that we are spiritual Isralites and Heirs of Abraham. and in this verse Moses is saying "God is near us whenever we pray to Him" It is true, It is our previlage to have a God who is near to us and hearken to us whenever we pray to Him.
The Lord had laid a burden in my heart to share about PRAYER and the Kinds of prayer which we read in BIBLE. God bless you. Hope this will help you to build your prayer life.
Prayer
Pray without ceasing the Bible says in 1st Thesalonians 4:17:-
But Prayer? What is Prayer? How it must be offered? At firsr ask this question to yourself.
Prayer is the Only way given by God for you to have a direct Communication with Him Personally.
When you read Bible God talks or speaks to you through it, But by prayer only you can speak or talk to God.
And prayer is not a formal thing or a rotein format to tell again and again that which was spoken, In contrary it is the channel by which you can share your feelings, Desier, Happyness, Sadness, Needs and Everything to God.
And the Fascinating truth which shook me was that when I find that God Himself wants to be a Thick friend with us! He doesn't deserve the formals but all He deserves is to be very close to you. And we must give Him the reverence which has to be given to Him.
Jesus can be close to you in your life than anyone, but it is all with you because He is a Gentle God . He won't force you to be but He desiers to be closer to you.
The presence of God is so close to us than we had ever experienced it. All we have to do is just kneel down in a place and welcome Jesus and His awsome presence into that place. Don't worry about time but be casual with Him. Wait on Him talk to Him as just as you would talk to your friend.
If you do so he will for sure will talk to you and will be the closest one to you.
I am saying this because This is my experiance in my day to-day life. There was a time in my life in which I longed to have a true and close friend, I had even shed tears concerning that, but then I asked Jesus to be my closest friend.
And I am a blessed person since I have a Dearest and closest friend named Jesus now. He is close to me than anyone else and than anything in my life on the whole world.
it will be your experiance too. If and only if you give Him your time. He doesn't deserve to be the last one of the day after you met every one and then comming to His presence and giving Him some time. But appoint a particular time for Him atleast an hour, Don't let anyone steal it but delight in it, Once you had tasted it you can never ever can say enough to it.
Come let us now see the prayers which were in Bible . Let God's grace abound on us and enable us to meditate on it and to understand the depth of it.
Let everything be for the Glory of God.
AMEN.
Abraham and Sodom Gomaroh
Background verse
Genesis 18:23-32
In these ures portion we read that how Abraham pleaded with God for the sake of the two cities named Sodom and Gomorah which was about to destroyed by God for their wickedness.
Behold Now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, who I am but dust and Ashes.
Saying these words, Abraham began to plead with God for the sake of those cities.
In Genesis 12:2, God says I will make thee (Abraham) a Great nation.
And in Genesis17:5 God says to Abraham, that he had made him as the father of many nations.
These verses indicate for sure that the Lord has promised to Abraham that He will make him a great Nation and a Father of many Nations. So, Abraham might think, O God has promised to make me a great Nation, so why should I concern for the destination of these two small cities. But Abraham did not think so, but rather he pleaded with God and searched a way for saving these cities
In Ezekiel we read that God is saying, When I intend to destroy a city, I sought for a person, who would kneel in the cleft of the rock and intercede, least I destroy the city. But I find none.
Abraham was the kind of a person who when came to know that God is going to destroy the city interceded with God for the sake of the city.
And in the life of Abraham, we read that wherever he went, he had the habit of building altar unto God and called upon his name. That much of priority does Abraham gave unto God almighty.
And the prayer of Abraham is a model unto us that how we must intercede to God for the sake of souls who are in the path of destruction.
When Abraham pleaded to God for Sodom and Gomaroh, he did not say, O God, I pray to you that you should not destroy the city.
But, Abraham just humbled himself before God almighty. The blessing of God on Abraham was indeed great, but his heart was not carried away by that, but he humbled himself saying, Behold, now I take upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes (Genesis 18:27)
These words which came out of the mouth of Abraham prove that he humbled himself before God.
Before saying this, he said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wickedness? (Genesis 18:23)
These words may seem to us that Abraham is questioning God, but it is not so. Abraham is saying to God indirectly, Ah! Lord God, you are a Righteous God, you deserve that men should live righteously. So Lord in those cities, there might be some righteous chaps.
This context tells that Abraham approached God almighty at first with saying Praises of him. So as like him we must have the burden for the souls which are destroying and must plead for their lives and while pleading, we must begin our prayer of intercession with saying Praises of God
We read in the ures that Abraham when humbled himself before God, he says that, he compared him to dust and ashes. So as like him, after Praising God, we must humble ourselves before God. In Proverbs, it is said, God resist the Proud, but giveth Grace to the Humble.
My dear beloved of God, it is the responsibility which the Lord has given to us- His people that we should intercede for the people who are living wickedly and in sin. So let us approach God as how Abraham approached and spared others life and spared Lot and his family.
