Lost in Boston. I was in no way surprised by this morning's turn of events. Getting lost while driving is quickly becoming my M.O. Lets back track to how this began. I am dropping a friend to the bus station which is just off the highway so it would be easy for me to swing to the right and continue on my route north. Confident in my abilities to read road signs (forgetting that the ones in Boston are microscopic) I head out without mapping my route. Next, I am in the middle of the financial district, high-rises towering like giants, one-way roads branching off like a maze, heart palpitating madly as I squint through the raindrops on my windscreen. Where am I, again? I follow random cars but they keep leaving me behind. Belatedly I reach for my map but I couldn't make sense of the lines. Frantic, I pull to the side of the road, my face scrunches up to cry... but I push my panic away before the first tear falls. I get it together enough to find Mass Ave and relief floods my soul because I now know enough to get to my destination. Life lesson learned: Life is a road trip. In my arrogance I figure I know the way, I mean how long have I been driving this road now? So I dont check my map-the Word. A cursory glance is not enough, but it requires a deep daily perusal. Sometimes the little verses I remember can get me through a tough spot, but they are not enough to take me home. For that I need a full knowledge of my surroundings, where I am going, where I am coming from, the waymarks. Not knowing His Word is going to get me unnecessarily lost on a daily basis. But I may also miss the signs he gives as a warning of the end. God's Word is a lamp unto my feet, my duty it to keep it well lit and sealed upon my heart.

Hi Andrene, I took too long to write on your behalf. Andrene is a natural sista, full of energy, love and supported arguments..lol. We first met on NCU choir-the alto section stil rocks,lol- right then I knew she was cool. Later we lived together, and that was my best time living off campus. One of my dearest and most trusted friends, a genius to say the least. In a nutshell, if I was arrested for a crime "most likely the torturing of a step father" she wouldn't be trying to bail me out...she would be in the jail cell doing hard time with me. luv ya girl
